The County Connections transit agency in East Bay is changing service schedules effective Sunday, October 4, 2020. The transit agency schedule updates will impact services in central Contra Costa County communities in San Francisco Bay Area. The transit service schedules will be adjusted on various routes caused by therein COVID-19 pandemic to accommodate local service needs for passengers, and transit routes for 600 series for schools will not operate until schools are open.

The SCT (Sonoma County Transit) agency in North Bay is continually operating on modified schedules and updated some routing services. The SCT services for Route 20 is operating on new daily schedules with three additional trips, and Route 30 is operating on the new daily schedule with return services to Los Guiliocos with inside stop. The transit service Route 40 is operating on a revised schedule, and Routes 44 and 48 are operating on new weekday schedules. The schedules for Route 60 is operating on the new daily schedule and Route 62 has extended services to Windsor Depot.

The SJC (San Jose International Airport) commercial airport in South Bay partnered with San Jose Fire Department for a virtual groundbreaking. The partnership groundbreaking is for a new Fire Station 20 in South Bay serving SJC Airport and neighboring communities. The new Fire Station 20 facility will be modernized with hybrid design, and six firefighter dormitories with state-of-the-art equipments. The new Fire Station 20 partnership project includes San Jose Public Works Department, Designer & Architecture, and Construction Company.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency has been awarded $1.2 billion federal funding for capital improvement projects in San Francisco Bay Area. The federal funding award is earmarked for the BART Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Program, and therein funds will certainly help with projects to improve services. Including BART service projects impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as health and safety projects to protect commuting passengers.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) agency announced Highway 880 Express Lanes will open effective Friday, October 2, 2020. The Highway 880 Express Lanes will operate from 5 AM to 8 PM during weekdays and toll fees will increase when traffic is heavy, and will decrease when vehicular traffic is low. The vehicle toll fees will show on therein Express Lanes digital signs for drivers to see, and drivers will pay the toll fees amount when entering the Express Lanes.

The Marin Transit agency in North Bay is exploring the Clipper START program operation for a complete assessment. The Marin County Transit District Board of Directors approved therein exploration approach, to evaluate the program's fare payment fees for passengers to ride transit buses in North Bay. The transit agency will provide some findings regarding therein Clipper START pilot program and processing procedures to participate. A public hearing will be in place regarding therein program participation and to hear from the public with their feedback remarks.

The Tri Delta Transit agency in East Bay shared their commitment to Health and Safety for transporting passengers in San Francisco Bay Area. The transit agency commitment is aligned with the APTA (American Public Transportation Association) Health & Safety Commitment Program standards. The transit agency earned APTA's National Health and Safety seal of commitment for certification, and will follow national guidelines to protect employees and passengers. The transit agency Health and Safety guidelines are consistent with local, state, and federal health advisory for protection.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) commercial airport in West Bay is sharing their six electric zero-emission buses. Including electric charging stations for therein electric buses to transport passengers within airport locations when necessary. The all-electric airport buses is part of SFO Airport's Strategic Plan for action and reducing carbon emissions in the Bay Area. The SFO Strategic Plan for action goal is to achieve 95% carbon emission reduction by 2021, and neutralizing carbon emissions infrastructure across the airport operations.

The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) agency in South Bay is encouraging passengers to use their new mobile app for parking. The Santa Cruz METRO transit agency is introducing their new apps to help customers with parking and improving their commuting experience. The parking app can allow passengers traveling for a long distance to park overnight at Scotts Valley Transit Center when using express transit services. It can connect commuting passengers to San Jose Diridon Station for other transit services in South Bay.
