SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - CALTRANS RECEIVE $2.15 MILLION
The Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) agency receives $2.15 million to study roadways usage in rural communities. The Caltrans federal funding grant is from USDOT (U.S. Department of Transportation) for therein study to evaluate an impact of a road user program in rural communities. The Caltrans possible road user program can become an alternative to therein state fuel tax for roadway and highway maintenance repairing projects. It's a federal grant assistance for Caltrans research to study priorities and benefits for roadways in rural communities statewide.
