An appeal to Bay Area voters to support transportation fixes by BART
As the Election Day is coming, an appeal has been made by BART to voters to advance their property taxes. This is one of the biggest transportation decisions regarding tax measure which will be decided by the voters of the Bay Area.
Measure B, the major in Santa Clara County would lift $6.5 billion for the extensions of the road repairs over 30 years. It is a handful measure from four counties.
Other Measures include Measure X in Contra Costa County for transportation sales tax; Measure J and K are for Sales tax to fund transportation; measure C1 for the parcel tax and Measure KK for property taxes.
History shows that the Bay Area voters have a helpful record when it comes to raising their taxes for smooth streets, repairing highways, and to expand their transit systems.
The stream of collecting fund to improvising transportation system has been spread transversely in the nation.
Transportation measures
Santa Clara County
In the neighborhood of Santa Clara and east of San Jose, Measure B request voters to support the sales tax up to $6.5 billion.
Contra Costa County
In Costa County, Measure X announces a sales tax that would gather $2.9 billion for more services in the county such as BART Cars with other streets work.
San Francisco
Another part of Measure Proposition K would elevate the sales tax up to 3 levels. A total sum of $ 2.5 billion would be utilized to buy buses, Muni rail cars, and repave streets plus on other safety works.
Alameda County
Measure C1 targets a successful AC transit in the Alameda county and part of West Contra Costa County. AC transits will make use of its money to uphold and control its buses.
Oakland
Measure KK, a 600 million bond will help for 10 years to increase the property taxes. The generated fund of $350 million will be used in several sidewalk repairs and improvements in different sections.
