The Uber self-driving cars project will no longer operate on San Francisco Bay Area roads and California statewide highways. Because California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) has revoked Uber's self-driving cars registration thereafter a business meeting with Uber, DMV administrators, and State Attorney General's Office regarding public safety. The Uber self-driving cars debut drew many public safety concerns and DMV including San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee, highly requested a permit from Uber to operate on city streets. Unfortunately, Uber didn't have a legal operational permit for self-driving cars, and DMV decided to revoke the Uber registration for lack of appropriate permit. Therefore, Uber decided to move their self-driving cars project to Arizona this morning on Thursday, and hopefully they will have appropriate permits to legally operate.
