The local commuters in San Francisco rely on muni buses and railway trains for transportation, and sometimes the muni system is unreliable especially for working class people. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) has been working on improvement projects to make the system better for passengers. Unfortunately, the NextBus technology app system was recently out and displaying inaccurate information for passengers. The SFMTA administrators apologized for inconvenience and shared the problem was from AT&T because it was shutting down its 2G cellular networking system. The technology system that NextBus relies on transmitting data to notify passengers on the next bus schedule arrival. The SFMTA transit agency is working on updating its automated radio communications system and it should be ready sometime in 2018.
