The Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital Campus is expected to be built soon as per the information by UCSF under an assigned amount of $200 million.
The project of research building will bring 800 researchers under one roof in nine building. The hopeful process will include collaboration of active researchers. The building will eliminate the 1915 made buildings which lack safety standards. Also, UCSF’s research building also needs to be reworked by October 2019.
UCSF plans to search its own designer and developer till the end of this year if all goes as per the plan.
The research center will merge the ongoing research across the 16 clinical departments of UCSF. These departments need a quick stroke, tuberculosis test, seizure treatments, along with interventions foe cardiovascular diseases. This research house will also serve the purpose of healthy policy work and other programs.
This research building adds a compliment to the general hospital’s 284-bed inpatient tower. It costs around $1 billion to manufacture and support the building parts.
The vice dean of UCSF School of Medicine, Dr. Sue Carlisle told the Business Times “We are just consolidating what we have on this campus. This is not about new programs and people coming to the building. It’s about improving what we have here”.
