SF institutions discussed the alternatives of transportation

San Francisco city is planning to shake hands with the private shuttle service providers to design a better transportation system for the city. The corporation is planning to help parents who have to drive long miles for dropping and picking-up their kids from K-5 schools.

As per the words of child Transportation study collected by San Francisco Board of Supervisor Katy Tang, more than half of the parents in the city take their kids to schools. 52 % of parentspick up their kids from school and 70 % parents pick their kids after-school curriculum.

On 19 January, Thursday, Tang conducted a conference to discuss the ‘first of its kind’ with deeper details on the matter. And, this has been discussed by Tang in his Facebook post where he said, “We weren’t surprised to find out most families are driving to school and have to make decisions about their child’s education based on limited transportation options”.

Though the city avails yellow buses to students for daily transportation, but the budget cuts have decreased number of such buses. Now, the San Francisco authorities are providing MUNI rides to those children who belong to low-income families. And the age limit of the kids ranges between 5 and 17.
