The Caltrain transit agency has released the engineering contractor scheduled to work on an improvement project. The PTG (Parsons Transportation Group) contractor was hired to install PTC (Positive Train Control) systems on Caltrain transit cars, and is fired because of further project delays since 2015. The Caltrain PTC safety systems were supposed to be installed and operating in 2015, and delayed to 2016 and rescheduled to 2017 for completion. The Caltrain administrators are hoping to have the improvement project completed by December 31, 2018 deadline. The FTA (Federal Transit Administration) is holding onto $647 million federal grant for Caltrain to help electrify the train system. The federal congressional provision requires many railway trains to install the PTC system for passenger safety. The Caltrain transit agency is pending to hire another company for the project before the federal deadline.
"The PTC work being done is imperative for safety and reliability of services, and the decision to terminate the contract was necessary to keep the project on schedule," said Michelle Bouchard, Caltrain COO (Chief Operating Officer). #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
