BART EXTENSION FINALLY OPENING IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) extension in Fremont, California is scheduled to finally open for services on March 25, 2017. The extension project broke grounds during 2009 and has been delayed because of ongoing training as well as updating new technology materials for passenger safety. The BART extension project has been going through challenges and scheduled to have an opening ceremony on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10 AM. The new BART station will have 42 electrical charging stations including connections to AC Transit and VTA transportation systems. The other BART extension to Contra Costa is delayed until 2018 because of staff training for diesel engine technology operation. The new Warm Spring BART station may open the way to future plans for connections in downtown San Jose and Santa Clara.
