The recently approved SB1 (Senate Bill-1) legislation will start in January 1, 2018 to increase gas taxes and vehicle registration fees to raise anticipated $52 billion for 10 years. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) is starting to allocate funding and San Francisco Bay Area will get monies for transit improvement projects. Including highways and roadway repairs within the Bay Area nine regional municipalities, and widening Highway 101 to relief traffic congestion in local county areas.
