BART CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) transportation system is being hit with a class-action lawsuit because of allegations regarding an app collecting personal information. The BART and Boston based developing company called Elerts Corporation thereby develops the app software for BART Watch mobile data. The mobile app was launched for users to report suspicious and/or criminal activities to BART Police on a timely manner for safety assistance. The lawsuit alleges the BART Watch mobile app is secretly collecting cellular numeric identifiers, and physical locations to identify users and thereby a privacy breach for the people. The collection of therein numeric identifiers is not normal for consumers, and especially when not wanting to share personal information for any database system.

"The safety of our passengers and privacy are top priorities and we want to make clear we are not using Elerts system for any other reason or purpose," said Alicia Trost, BART Spokesperson. #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
