The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is upgrading North Point Street and The Embarcadero waterfront walkways and biking lanes. The new bicycle traffic signal and green colored lanes are installed for bicyclists safety turns easier when necessary. These upgrades are slowly coming along to ensure pedestrians and bicyclists are safe and consistent with the Vision Zero initiative. The SFMTA improvement projects are making safer streets in the Bay Area, and for everyone working and living within San Francisco. There will be more upcoming safety improvement projects during this Summer along The Embarcadero for biking and walking upgrade projects. The traffic signal lights and street crosswalks will be upgraded for pedestrians and bicyclists between Broadway and Second streets for safety. The bike lanes will be painted green for better and more visibility with bicyclist safe turning lanes, and discouraging double parking cars and parking enforcement will be in place to issue unlawful parking tickets.
