SAN FRANCISCO GOLDEN GATE TOLL PLAZA REPLACEMENT APPROVED IN BAY AREA

The Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza in San Francisco is approved for replacement by the Highway and Transportation District (HTD) Board of Directors. The toll plaza effort will be constructed by AECOM company in Oakland for the replacement project as consulting engineers when finally approved. The replacement project would cost $6.9 million to upgrade the iconic Golden Gate Bridge tolls plaza with new technology equipment elements. The HTD administration have to work closely with State of California legislators, for appropriate policies and compliance procedures regarding new electronic toll collection tools. The timeline for therein toll replacement project is still within discussions and state regulated policies maybe in place during 2018.
