The latest audit report by San Francisco City Controller's Office identifies interesting findings for iconic cable car operations. The report findings discovered muni cable car operators are lacking to collect up to 37% cash fares during their operating time. This report finding was part of an undercover sting regarding iconic cable car operators and how they collect cash fares. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) administration is looking into working closely with City Controller's Office regarding this matter. Including assistance from SFPD (San Francisco Police Department) to coordinate with the response team on observation of cash fare collection. The City Controller's Office auditors identified in a report about two cable car operators failed to issue receipts for cash fare payments.
