A Surprising Arrival of San Francisco Police Department in Muni Bus for Alamo Square Park Protest

Everyone was amazed when SFPD officers reached at Alamo Square Part Rally Protest in a surprising Muni Bus. For the protest against the Patriot Prayer Group, around a dozen officers were carried to the location in this vehicle. San Franciscans expressed their feelings on social media for this surprising ride.

One of Instagram users @marcusismael asked, “You think they also had trouble opening the door by touching the yellow tape?” Whereas a Twitter user Evan Johnson said, “I hope they paid their fair share!”

On this, Robert Rueca, spokesperson officer of SFPD said through an email, “The practice is not a new one and this is not the first time a Muni bus is used to aid other agencies. The partnership enables the fast, efficient and safe transport of law enforcement personnel during large scale events.”

SF Municipal Transportation Agency spokesperson, Paul Rose said, “The agency has a “roster of operators” that are available to provide shuttle services for events “such as these”. The operators drove the Muni buses used for the protest.”

On asking, who paid for Muni Ride of officers, Robert Rueca said transfer services were offered to SFPD “at no additional cost”.
