The increasing car break-ins within San Francisco citywide and auto burglaries increase 28% is getting SFPD (San Francisco Police Department) officers attention. The SFPD issued a report this week identifying 17,970 car break-ins and 13,995 at this time during last year. The North Beach and Mission District area is capturing more attention because of higher car break-in crimes within neighborhoods. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Norman Yee, District-7, introduced "Safe Neighborhoods Ordinance" and unfortunately Mayor Ed Lee vetoed it. Because therein local legislation was intentional to build safe neighborhoods within San Francisco citywide, and preventing more car break-ins, auto theft and burglaries, etc. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Hillary Ronen, District-9, is hoping to speak with Supervisor Norman Yee about reintroducing therein local legislation to build safe communities.
