The Caltrain transit services in San Francisco Bay Area is reducing train horn noises effective Wednesday, September 13, 2017 and become a good neighbor for local residents. The Caltrain engineering operators will limit horn noises when crossing San Bruno, Belmont, and San Carlos train stations. Because therein Caltrain stations have tracks along with platforms separated from the crossing street level. However, the train horn reduction effort of being a good neighbor will not alternate and/or compromise safety standards for people. The Caltrain engineering operators will continue to blow train horns at other locations for safety reasoning.
