A friendly competition is held between San Francisco Los Angeles, and NYC just to find out which city has the best public transportation. No one can deny this fact that SF has one of the best transportation systems all across the world. From underground subways to ride-hailing system to historic streetcars, SF provides all transit facilities to keep folks happy and satisfied.
Being a diehard pedestrian (Brock Keeling) whose drink/food, social life, and work requirements revolve around the 5-block radius, this curbed challenge permitted me to step out of my comfort area. The great surprise during this challenge was how fast it took to reach Fisherman’s Wharf from SFO. Traveling from one place to another was not that much horrific as expected. The vehicular driving system in SF is getting worse day after day and this is still a place best known for its public transportation.
In the end, Brock Keeling said, “I, as a driver with two car crashes to his name, continue to live here. Not for the Victorians. Not for the Castro. Not for the burritos. I live here for that packed Muni train and that damn bus that never comes on time.”
The main goal of this survey or competition is to determine which city has the best transit system and then analyze how to better public transportation in other cities and ranking the best car-free neighborhoods all across the country.
