SMART TRAIN INCREASING RIDERSHIP IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) train services in North Bay is showing increase with more passengers in the Bay Area. The SMART train reports showing more passengers traveling in North Bay using train services, and showing 11,773 ridership commuters during April 2021. The SMART train services maintenance workers upgraded Selective Catalytic Reduction brackets on diesel vehicles, and replaced with new brackets and reinstalled the engine diesel power module. Including the replacement of Master Controller on Diesel Multiple Unit vehicles thereafter safety inspections, and SMART maintenance workers performing annual and/or mid-year safety inspections as necessary. The maintenance workers continues to perform Automatic Train Control services on two Diesel Multiple Units to be in compliance with federal regulations.
