SFMTA CABLE CARS RETURNING WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit services agency in West Bay is returning iconic cable cars back on track. The SFMTA operational cable cars will return during this summertime thereafter mechanical inspections and retraining operators during July 2021. The SFMTA testing teams will provide therein historical cable cars testing routes during the month of August 2021, as well as mock service trials to ensure the system is ready for operation. The legendary cable cars will hopefully return on full schedules during the month September 2021 and Powell-Hyde line will be the first in operation. The SFMTA operational cable cars were shutdown during therein pandemic to ensure the safety of operators and passengers.
