The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency in San Francisco Bay Area will start accepting fares payment only with Clipper Cards effective Thursday, November 30, 2023. The BART services agency will not accept paper tickets anymore, and moving forward with new state-of-the-art fare gates. The new BART fare gates for traveling passengers will only accept Clipper Cards for payments. In other words, traveling passengers using BART for transportation will need to have the Clipper Card to pay for their fees to ride. The Clipper Cards are available on Apple Pay and/or Google Pay for passengers convenience, and easier for mobile traveling passengers on the road. The BART passengers with paper tickets can get refunds, and launching the new fare gates with new payment methods. Needless to say, BART passengers have increased to 43% in September and 42% in August - visit www.bart.gov for more information and/or schedules update.
