SAN FRANCISCO GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE LABOR UNIONS POSSIBLE STRIKE

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the foremost eye-viewing scenery in San Francisco and gateway to many more unforgettable local landmarks in San Francisco Bay Area. Unfortunately, labor unions coalition within the Golden Gate Bridge district is planning a strike if current negotiations don't make it to the next level, because it appears that some union members are not happy with the proposed contract by district administrators. Although a striking date has not been identified, but if a strike happens, it will distract commuters using San Francisco piers and ports for commuting across the bay due to ferry operators strike. Working class people in San Francisco will have to find ways and means of support to commute back and forth during striking hours, and depending how long the strike will take due to contractual negotiations.

"Union members don't want to strike and what the proposal offers is not acceptable, and members are currently behind the cost of living," said Alex Tonisson, Union Coalition Co-Chair. The union members plan to alert commuters from across the bay if a strike happens, and intends to negotiate a workable contract for both sides to avoid a strike.
