SCCRTC LOCAL PROJECT UPDATE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SCCRTC (Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission) services agency in South Bay is continually constructing their current local improvement project. The SCCRTC agency project will build a new crossover bridge on Highway 1 at Capitola Avenue, and should be available for usage during 2026. The new overcrossing pathway will have bicycle lanes and sidewalk improvement elements, to make better connections for pedestrians and bike riders. Including auxiliary lanes going northbound and southbound on Highway 1 for improvement. It will connect local communities better to parks, schools, beaches, commercial markets, etc. The SCCRTC agency is partnering with Caltrans (California Department of Transportation), County of Santa Cruz, City of Capitola, and Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District).
