SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA: PENINSULA TRANSIT DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION SETTLEMENT

The County of San Mateo Transit District will not face charges due to allegations of financial improprieties, and inappropriate accounting practice that's inconsistent with accounting financial standards. The SamTrans transit district runs throughout San Mateo County including Caltrain to transport passengers, and because of an investigation by San Mateo County DA's (District Attorney) office due to potential malpractice. Leading into a three month investigation for potential monetary embezzlement, theft, and criminal conduct allegations within the transit district operation. Two district employees brought this matter to DA's attention, and after a complete investigation, the DA ruling is to dismiss these allegations because there is no evidence supporting the allegations by therein two transit district employees.

One of the two transit district employees who is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) claiming the allegations, she said, "she was asked to violate publicly accepted accounting practice" leading into financial accounting irregularities. Needless to say, she is filing a lawsuit at federal courts claiming she was fired due to these allegations, and two district alleging employees were not cooperative with the investigation process. She claims that she was encouraged to perform fraudulent accounting and malpractice within her duties, and DA's office finds no criminal act was involved, after the investigation and settling this matter as such with no criminal filing charges for the transit district.
