The partnership state agencies reminded drivers to move over and slow down when first responder emergency lights are flashing. Including work zones on highways and local roadways statewide for workers, and first responders safety during onsite emergency locations. The Caltrans data shows each year a first responder worker is struck by a moving vehicle at emergency onsite locations leading to injury and/or death. The data shows traffic related matters on highways and roadways can lead into high cost of death for law enforcement officers, firefighters, Emergency Medical Services Personnel, maintenance workers, and towing companies personnel - visit www.dot.ca.gov for more information and/or statistical data updates.
