The northbound highway I-280 was closed over Labor Day holiday weekend and some local residents in San Francisco have to stay home, and limiting their traveling plans for the holiday as a way to stay away from traffic headaches. Caltrans working crew and contracting agency was able to successfully complete their last phase of the seismic retrofitting northbound level, and opened the highway 7 hours earlier than originally planned for commuters early Tuesday morning. The retrofitting development was to ensure highway safety was in place accordingly before any major earthquakes, and preventing any major safety highway issues in the future.
