The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) services agency in South Bay is offering free rides for passengers on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 Earth Day. The local traveling passengers can ride free on METRO transit services using all public fixed-routing services countywide. Including paratransit services for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) passengers using ParaCruz, and Highway 17 Express transit services on 2025 Earth Day. It's a celebration and reminder for our communities to collectively help each other, and saving our planet on Earth Day in the Bay Area! The Santa Cruz METRO agency has been leading public transporting services since 2002, and with sustainable fleet of buses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The public transit agency solidified their commitment by deploying first four ZEBs (Zero-Emission Buses) during 2021, and nine more ZEBs transit buses during 2023 for services countywide - visit www.scmtd.com for more information and/or schedules update.
