The Governor of California signed into law AB2293 legislating insurance for TNC cars (Uber, Lyft, etc.) to have appropriate insurance coverage for passengers, and this will provide appropriate insurance to protect passengers while traveling in Uber and Lyft cars. Taxi drivers have been complaining about this issue and happy about this new law taking effect during next summer, and this will provide an equal playing field with appropriate insurance standards protecting passengers. Some taxi drivers are saying "it's nothing to do with innovation" because we agree with support for innovation, however, it's protection for passengers during their traveling within San Francisco Bay Area.
