TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY DISCUSSIONS IN A SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA CITY

Menlo Park Councilman Ray Mueller and the city mayor held a community meeting discussion yesterday evening regarding the death of a recent driver on Caltrans railway tracks in the City of Menlo Park. Local residents, neighbors, workers, and community leaders participated in the meeting and shared some ideas of how to avoid these types of accidents. The city mayor opens the community meeting with appreciation of everyone showing their support to prevent these types of fatality accidental situations with a moment of silence. Some people shared to have an underpass for vehicular traffic and saving top of the surface for pedestrian crossing Caltrans railway and/or similar to how other local cities have traffic detours. Some people shared to reset the El Camino Real traffic light signals to become synchronized with Caltrans train stopping signals.

"People that are caught on train tracks need to pay more attention to their driving activities giving themselves enough time for safety reasoning.
