DEFICIENT TRANSPORTATION BRIDGES IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The latest transportation report released by U.S. Department of Transportation identifies 59,000 transportation bridges and/or overpass are structurally deficient. They need repairs or replacement, and ongoing maintenance for sustainability and 2000 are deemed structurally deficient in California. Out of the top 25 structurally deficient, 3 are in San Francisco Bay Area along Highway 880 bridge overpassing San Leandro Creek in Oakland, another Highway 880 bridge overpassing Whipple Road in Union City, and Highway 680 bridge overpassing Monument Boulevard in Pleasant Hill. Out of the top 50 structurally deficient, 7 are within San Francisco Bay Area and not considered imminent hazard for drivers.
