The new electric muni buses purchased from New Flyer Industries Inc. for San Francisco is struggling going up the city hills. The San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and administration has invested almost $26 million in purchasing new electric buses for the muni fleet. However, it appears new electric muni buses are not capable of going up steep hills above 10% grade levels, after findings by SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency). It's reported the testing results of new muni buses didn't meet standards of muni speed requirements. Other testing indicators show 4 out of 9 testing requirements failed to meet standards, and sometimes it takes longer for acceleration. Some bus operators are saying, "these buses are poor for the city hills, and the fleet is called upon to climb steepest terrain hills in San Francisco."
"The numbers were for internal usage and metrics only, and not necessarily for New Flyer Industries to meet," said John Haley, SFMTA Transit Director. #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
