SOME MEMBERS OF DISTRICT 9 SPLIT OVER THE PROPOSED BART STATION

According to Gladys Soto who is the leader of Latina community thinks that there is no one who cares about that where she lives. Soto said that I want a real solution for the neighborhood.

La Lengua the tongue-shaped corridor is served by many Muni lines in the recent years which are equally far from the24th Street and Glen Park BART. But this is the ever longest 3-minute ride stretch in San Francisco.

Last week in a press conference, District 9 supervisor candidate Joshua Arce argues that there is never been a plan for this neighborhood. He asked that What if that solution is just right here below our feet?

As per the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesperson Paul Rose, Arce wants to push for a new BART station where approximately 10,000 people can board buses every day.

The city published a study about BART station at 30th and Mission in 2003. But the plan did not work at that time due to ripping up a section of Mission Street and flattening the grade of the underground track. Jacquelyn Omotalade member of Arce’s wrote in an email that none of which would be required today, bringing the cost way down.

Nick Josefowitz director of BART says today's machines would enable crews to do all the drilling from underground. We're sitting here today in a half-empty parking lot. And we can use this lot to build apartments so that people can stay in this neighborhood. And BART connects this neighborhood with regional transportation network. In 2014, he elected on a platform of building new stations on BART.
On the same hand, District 9 Supervisor David Campos who is one of three opponents who disagrees with this new station plan on BART. Ronen says that extending the safety and reliability of the system is the first priority.
To run the BART 24 hours, multi-city Bay Area Transit Core Capacity Study is going to add a second Transbay tube and will conclude in 2018.
