The AC Transit (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) has operated therein Flex Services pilot project for two weeks and showing excitement. The one-year pilot services project started Monday, March 27, 2017 and it's a dynamic reservation based transit services project. The Flex Services project is an alternative transportation for local residential passengers to eliminate waiting time for regular AC Transit buses. It operates during daytime from 6 AM to 8 PM Monday to Friday excluding holidays and designed for smaller 12 passengers seating shuttles. The Flex Services project serves Castro Valley, Newark, Union City, and Fremont and shuttles are equipped with navigational mobility software. The AC Transit collected data identifies 92% of successful trips along with returning riding customers during testing period - project kicking off to a strong start!
