Andrew Cuomo headed to Washington to meet with the U.S Transfer Chief to discuss Transit Issues

The governor of New York is to meet with Elaine Chao, Transportation Secretary in the US to discuss the ongoing transit problems in the city.

During the press conference, Democratic Gov. Cuomo said, “Wednesday's meeting would focus on long-delayed plans to build a new Hudson River tunnel to relieve congestion on busy rail lines coming from New Jersey and beyond.”

Cuomo believes that it is very important to complete the Gateway Tunnel project on time. Because this tunnel can be the most important transfer project in the area with a huge list of critical requirements.

As the NY City Metropolitan region has faced a lot of transportation problems such as delays, breakdowns, and derailments.
