CALTRAIN RECEIVING ELECTRIFICATION FUNDING IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The Caltrain Administration posted a press release news information identifying $647 million federal funding will be awarded for the Caltrain electrification project. This means an opening ceremony for the improvement project will be happening soon because project contractors will end therein agreement by June 30. The state fiscal year begins in July 1, 2017 and improvement project activities along with construction has to move forward with federal funding allocation. This is good news for Caltrain Administration and passengers within San Francisco Bay Area, and FTA (Federal Transit Administration) is considering to sign and complete the grant agreement contract. The $647 million federal grant will be allocated through the FFGA (Full Funding Grant Agreement) procedural process, and Caltrain will receive therein funding for the electrification improvement project - visit www.caltrain.com/electrification for project information.
