CALTRANS WORKER DECEASED ON HIGHWAY IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The Caltrans working crew along Highway 17 this morning was impacted by the bad weather conditions in San Francisco Bay Area. The working crew members were repairing the highway because of a mudslide in Santa Cruz mountains, and two crew members were run-over by a dump truck. Unfortunately, one died during the accident around 12:15 PM during afternoon hours, and workers flagged down CHP (California Highway Patrol) for assistance. The officers were able to retrieve the other Caltrans repair crew member from underneath the dump truck for safety. The working crew members were restoring the roadway because of mudslide damages, and dump truck was hauling repairing dirt from the working area - don't mess with nature and safety should always be top priority.
