Qantas Airlines had a questionable slideshow at the recent tourism conference in San Francisco. The airlines describe City of Oakland as "the wild side of San Francisco" and irking local San Francisco Bay Area residents. Many Oakland residents don't feel good about the airline's promotional description, and don't want to be under the shadow of anything. The local residents are questioning these types of promotional advertising because it can raise many wrongful issues about Oakland. Some Oakland City Council members are also raising issues with these types of tactical business advertising.
