EXPLORING BIKE LANES IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The traffic congestion in San Francisco Bay Area comes along with many variables including parking and safety reasoning for bicyclists and pedestrians. The City of Menlo Park council members approved a yearly pilot project for bike lanes along Oak Grove Avenue from Middlefield to University Avenue. The proposal project will provide a testing opportunity to explore therein safety elements along the way. The bicycle project will also go along Crane Street and University Drive causing the elimination of parking spaces. Some local residents and council members shared their concerns about safety issues involved with the big pilot project. The bike lanes project would also cross the Caltrain tracks and recently a commuter driver was killed by a train that runs along therein train tracks - project to begin August 2017.
