Glacier Park International Airport is extended its services by adding direct flight service to San Francisco in winter

Glacier Park International Airport is extending its services by providing direct flights to and from San Francisco in this winter on Saturdays from Dec 17 to March 2015. United Airlines is working from the last two years to increase local airline services and now they will provide winter direct flights to Chicago on Saturday from Dec. 17 to April 1 and Sunday flights from Dec. 18 to Jan. 1.

According to AERO officials, Glacier AERO has provided $283,000 in funds to support the new and expanded service for the 2016/2017 winter season. Dylan Boyle who is an executive director for Explore Whitefish and an AERO board member said that these services are the key to enhancing the experience of visitors in winter. This is a great way to promote the business of AERO services and world-class skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities in Glacier National Park during the winter.

The Whitefish Mountain Resort, Whitefish Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Kalispell Convention & Visitor Bureau have promoted air service with marketing campaigns over the last two years and also ready to promote the third straight season.

GPIA is still in a row to break its annual passenger record for the fifth year. In this July, more than 270,600 passengers flew in and out of the local airport which is a large rate as compared to a year ago which was 258,000. According to airport officials, approx 470,238 passengers traveled through Kalispell in last year.
