The public transportation system in San Francisco is going through many changes for improvement, including elimination of muni bus stops on Van Ness Avenue. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is planning to discontinue 9 bus stops along Van Ness for the Bus Rapid Transit system. These bus stop changes will take affect during the beginning of next month in June, and new system will be accessible for muni buses, railway-trains, and Golden Gate transit buses. Project construction is planning to happen during this Summer season, and local neighborhood communities are okay with the project. Golden Gate Bridge parking on both ends of the iconic bridge will be closed Friday to Monday during the Memorial Day weekend. Local transportation agencies will study traffic relief during the closing time, and visitors can park at overflow parking lots along Lincoln Blvd. and Presidio. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Board of Directors will consider approving $311,850 to buy more hand-straps for BART passengers. As part of the improvement process for BART passengers and avoiding any unsafe issues while riding BART local trains.
