The new pedestrians and bicycles pathway was opened Saturday during a ceremony at McLaren Park in San Francisco. The new Mansell Streetscape pathway is aligned with the city's Vision Zero policy to build safe and healthy communities. The project is converting two street lanes into a pedestrian and bicycle pathway, including traffic-calming measures and signs, crosswalks and flashing beacons. It's a partnership effort with several community groups, city agencies, San Francisco Public Works Department, and San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. The multi-million project will include solar-powered streetlights and clearly marked crosswalks for pedestrian and bicyclist safety at intersections. It also connects Visitacion Valley, Portola and Excelsior neighborhoods through Mansell Street with safety measures in place.
"Neighborhood families around McLaren Park can now ride their bikes, jog, walk, and feel safe without sharing the road with a bus or cars," said Mohammed Nuru, Director, San Francisco Public Works. #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
