The muni buses in San Francisco will be equipped with new communication systems for monitoring aspects during everyday activities. The new radio communication system will move muni buses from analog to digital networking, and allowing drivers to communicate with department staffing effectively. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) board received a presentation from administrators and demonstrated how the system works. The SFMTA transit agency is replacing the outdated system with new communication systems for operation efficiency. The new transit system will have drivers interface with management staffing and other drivers using the digital touch screen. The drivers will login and logout accordingly to the system when his/her operational shift begins and/or ends. The new system will operate while the transit bus is in motion, including new phone systems for drivers to use when necessary. The SFMTA expects to finish installing the new communication systems sometime in April of this year.
"Staff are installing 12 to 16 new systems into muni vehicles everyday with 190 of the systems already installed," said Alex Hallowell, SFMTA Transportation Planner. #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
