The Caltrain plans to electrify its trains from San Jose to San Francisco doesn't appear to sit well with local leaders in Palo Alto and Atherton, and possibly file a lawsuit because of the environmental report impacts not highly considered within the process. The Town of Atherton submitted a letter to Caltrain sharing its concerns regarding impacts of the EIR (Environmental Impact Report), and Palo Alto and Atherton officials have been communicating with Caltrain regarding this matter. Also, some local leaders shared that intentions of the plan may be a set-up for the high-speed railway train tracking system, coming through their neighborhood communities without input from local communities. Atherton City Council will certainly look at this issue of concern during their council meeting tomorrow including consideration of a lawsuit or not.
