SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA COMPANIES CAR FUEL INNOVATION

Some Bay Area tech companies are trying to make vehicles become more fuel efficient while the engine is operating at the same time. The vehicle engine will operate using it's engine cylinders and certain number of cylinders may shut-down, if it's not needed during the vehicle operating trip. The San Francisco Bay Area team of tech companies will have a software that operates in a way to off-set the vehicle cylinders while operating. A car tech company called Delphi Automotive is assisting with the effort in more ways to save our environment, and having our vehicles in the Bay Area operating more efficiently with limited fuel emissions. Tech team members said, "drivers will not know a difference with the vehicle operation while running on limited cylinders." The conceptual ideal situation is turning off the vehicle cylinders you don't need during traveling time using a Dynamic Skip Fire program.

"Whenever you see a gray dot that means a particular vehicle cylinder is not activated," said Jim Zizelman, Managing Director, Delphi Powertrain.
