The Highway I-80 Corridor Project development has been progressively moving forward after groundbreaking in 2011, and Caltrans starting to put signs along the freeway during 2014. The developmental project should be completed sometime in the middle of 2015 and celebrating new iconic overhead signs will begin - that's living in the new millennium within San Francisco Bay Area! The electronic signs will provide variable messages for freeway drivers regarding traffic, real-time speeding limits, accidents, etc. including ramp meters to provide drivers with safety measures. It's a sophisticated high-tech mechanism in place to help ease traffic congestion along Highway I-80 with variable elements to assist freeway commuters.
