SAN FRANCISCO CABLE CARS MAINTENANCE IN THE BAY AREA

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) will repair gearboxes in historical San Francisco cable cars along California Street. The gearboxes repair and maintenance is part of therein Gearbox Rehabilitation Project to improve cable car services. The SFMTA will provide shuttles on Friday, September 22, 2017 until Friday, September 29, 2017 to transport passengers during the improvement project for cable cars on California Street. The cable cars will operate normal hours on Saturday, September 30, 2017 with updated gearboxes on California Street. The Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason street lines will continue to operate cable cars normal hours - visit www.sfmta.com for more information.
