The District Attorney's Office in San Francisco is critically concerned about passenger's safety and well-being while traveling in Uber and other ridesharing cars. The San Francisco District Attorney is working closely with Los Angeles District Attorney, California, to ensure passengers are safe using Uber and other ridesharing cars. These two District Attorney (DA) offices in State of California feels very strong about transportation issues including passenger's safety and well-being while traveling on state highways and roadways. San Francisco District Attorney's Office announced they're expanding the Uber consumer protection lawsuit, including new findings on Uber drivers background checking system. The DA offices finding results to 25 drivers who committed extensive crimes or without a valid driver's license, and criminal records seriously jeopardizing passenger's safety. Uber driver's criminal records include sexual exploitation with children, seniors and elderly assault, identity theft, robbery and assault with a firearm. The other issue of concern for DA's office is that Uber don't provide an extensive live-scan fingerprinting background check for it's drivers.
