This effort includes payment-by-phone option for commuting motorists to pay for parking meters in San Francisco, and hopefully it will expedite the payment process for people - especially people who are running late for any type of activity in the city.
"Upgrading our system is stepping the right direction and making it more easier and smarter for people," said Ed Reiskin, SFMTA Administrator. This retrofitting effort is for all single space parking meters in the city and hopefully all systematic changes will be done by February next year. The parking meters upgrading system will cost about $515 per meter and making it workable for residents and working-class people in San Francisco.
