SONOMA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION UPDATES IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SCTA (Sonoma County Transportation Authority) approved $26 million for various local improvement transportation projects. These county transportation projects are funded by federal and state funding through the One Bay Area Grant Program managed by MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission). The improvement projects will include repaving local roadways, bicycle and pedestrian pathways over bridges and highways, as well as repairs for local traffic congestion areas. The new bike and pedestrian pathway on Crocker Road Bridge will cost $3.1 million, to link between eastern side rural areas of the Russian River and the City of Cloverdale and Highway 101. The local advocates for therein bike and pedestrian pathway have been encouraging decision-making leaders to make it happen for safety reasoning. The SCTA also earmarked $1.78 million towards a design for a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Highway 101 to link Santa Rosa Junior College neighborhood communities to Coddingtown Mall.
