The vehicular traffic congestion on highways and local roadways continue to get worse in San Francisco Bay Area, and local transportation agencies are planning a subway in Santa Clara County. The proposal subway tunnel for trains will be operated by BART (Bay Are Rapid Transit) administration and work closely with VTA (Valley Transportation Authority). The proposal "J" shaped routing tunnel will run beneath Santa Clara Street in San Jose going north with a terminal adjacent to Santa Clara Caltrain Station. The project construction is planning to start during later part of next year in 2018, and trains should be ready to transport passengers in 2026. The BART/VTA partnership agencies will have public hearing and community meetings to share project information with the public.
